Coastal Shellfish Corporation (CSC), aFirst Nations owned Company, is a fast-paced, young and innovative business,producing Japanese scallops on a commercial scale on the North Coast of BritishColumbia. Located in Prince Rupert, CSC is undertaking a major expansion tobecome BC’s largest, fully integrated shellfish company with an alreadyestablished hatchery and farm grow-out operation, actively marketing itsproducts in BC.

Coastal ShellfishCorporation is seeking to recruit a Farm Manager with sound marine farmingexperience and skills for our scallop farming operation. The position involvesthe management of the day to day farm activities, working closely with theSales and Processing teams. A broad range of skills across multiple functionsis required; stock control/assessment, weekly harvest activities, stockgrading, farm maintenance, vessel operations and land base operations.

You will manage a smallteam, work autonomously with your team, show initiative and have strongcommunication skills.

In addition, the Farm Manager will work with a hatcheryteam to monitor seed/scallops and environmental conditions.  The primaryduty of the Farm Manager will be the operation of the farm to meet companyproduction goals.

Experience

The successful candidate willhave sound marine skills, scallop farming experience is preferred but notessential. Some tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded but notessential.

The ability to plan,organise and deliver actions on a day to day basis is essential. Working withthe sales and processing teams to ensure a flow of product going to market iscritical.

Experience with all levels of aquaculture farm systems,seed planting and transfer, lantern net maintenance and crop harvesting.Experience in crew management, budgeting and regulation compliance.

Must be proficient in computer applications (MS Word,Excel, and PowerPoint.

Must have a detailed knowledge of boats and nets, ropes,anchors and buoys of an aquaculture long

A degree of flexibilityis offered in this position that may involve after hours and weekend work.

A salary packagecommensurate with the applicant's skills and experience will be offered.
